Yoga for Sciatica
This video is for those who experience sciatica – the pain, weakness, numbness and/or tingling in your leg or foot that often radiates down the back of one of your legs. The pain is caused by compression or irritation of one or more of the nerve roots of the sciatic nerve. This compression actually irritates the nerve and causes swelling and pain along the nerve. Herniated discs are the most common cause of sciatica. This video will focus on what to do to ease your pain and how to prevent future flare ups. I will lead you through a series of yoga exercises that will release pressure on your sciatic nerve. In addition this video will focus on rehabilitation with special core strengthening, hip mobility and spinal stability exercises to allow you to move forward in a way to prevent the problems that cause sciatica in the first place. Finally I will teach you the postures you should absolutely stop doing in a yoga class as somebody suffering from sciatica and teach you postures to do in their place so that you don’t continue to make your sciatic symptoms worse.
