✮ NADI SHODHANA | ONE-NOSTRIL BREATH ✮

Today Rachel Marie White is a special guest on Lifestyle with Melissa West. Rachel is a yoga teacher at Sleepy Santosha where she provides gentle yoga classes for people living with chronic pain and chronic illness.

In this video, Rachel will demonstrate how to practice a pranayama or yoga breathing exercise called Nadi Shodhana, one nostril breath. By only using one nostril at a time, this breathing technique slows down the rate of respiration. Taking these deeper, slower more controlled breaths can help us to reduce anxiety, headaches and fatigue. Nadi Shodhana can be practiced at anytime, but it is especially beneficial right before bedtime because it creates a deep relaxation state.
