How to breath during Yoga with Dr. Melissa West

Debbie from FB Could you tell me the best video to teach me the right way to breathe during yoga. Thank you.

This is a great question and a difficult one to answer because teaching good breathing is one of the main cornerstones of my teaching philosophy … so many of my classes focus on how to breathe during yoga.

Most people when they come to yoga as beginners are breathing shallow and up high in their chest and so the focus should be on breathing more deeply into their belly. It is also important to remember to breathe three-dimensionally into the front, sides and back of your body. Once you have been practicing yoga for a while, remember to breathe not only into your belly but also into your middle and upper lungs as well.
