Free weekly online yoga classes partners with ethically conscious clothing

Namaste Yoga, a free weekly yoga video podcast available online, featuring real yoga for real people has been squeezed by Squeezed Yoga Clothing. The two organizations, one of which freely offers weekly yoga classes online and the other which produces beautifully designed and ethically conscious clothing have joined forces. Namaste Yoga has been offering free weekly yoga video podcasts for the past two years to over 300, 000 viewers through video distribution channels such as itunes, youtube, TiVo, Roku, and Vodpod. Namaste Yoga viewers enjoy the host Dr. Melissa West’s natural, “keeping it real” style and download her hour-long yoga classes each week.

Squeezed Yoga clothing is designed and manufactured in Canada in an environmentally responsible facility which reduces the dye used for the clothing to a steam that is then used to heat the factory. Each piece of clothing is hand printed using non-toxic water based ink. This was an important key to forming the partnership since Namaste Yoga participants are concerned about the ethics of manufacturing practices.

When asked why she chose this clothing line Dr. Melissa West responded, “This yoga clothing is designed for yogis. Not only does this clothing feature beautiful designs and vibrant colours, but they are fully functional. When you put these clothes on, they stay put. I no longer have to worry when I go upside down or bend over in front of the camera that anything is going to show or fall out.”

Donna describes Squeezed Yoga clothing in this way, ‘I’ve designed these yoga clothes to combine form, function, and comfort. I like to think of them as beautiful equipment. Each garment is designed to fit close and stay put while stretching with you as you practice.”
