Yoga with Melissa 81 is the story of Hanumanasana  The pose is named after the Hindu Deity Hanuman. Hanuman is a symbol of strength, courage, perseverance and devotion. Just like Hanuman we often forget our faith, our divinity, and our greatness. Through the story of Hanuman we will remember that there is a part of us that is divine and able to accomplish the impossible.

This hatha yoga class begins with the Anjali mudra as a way of connecting with Hanuman and the story of Hanuman. After receiving the story of Hanuman we lie down and do some hip opening and hamstring stretches. Before coming to standing we release your quadriceps and do more hamstring opening. When we come to standing we do some sun salutations which tie directly to the story of Hanuman. Our inversion is splits up the wall and then we come to seated to further release your hamstrings. Our final pose it hanumanasuna or splits pose.
